As part of the Leeds Pride 2018 celebrations, we put on a riverside BBQ on Dock Street for the entire Morgans team. We were equipped with deck chairs, a killer BBQ and drinks galore. We could see and hear the parade heading over The Calls and once the BBQ died down, everyone made their way into the party for the rest of the evening.
Big D’s BBQ provided the catering for us, which included a range of burgers, sausages and chicken and veggies, whilst Latitude Wine & Liquor Merchant provided the beverages for the occasion. With our office based just over Leeds Bridge, we’re lucky enough to have access to Dock Street’s large riverside terrace. This meant everyone could really relax and catch up with different team members over the course of the afternoon. With music blasting all over town, the pride vibes were still strong on the terrace!
When the BBQ planning started nearly 2 months ago, you can guarantee it would probably rain all day for us… But by some miracle, the afternoon was full of sunshine with absolutely no rain to be seen! Last year, the team hired a barge at Granary Wharf and had a fun-filled afternoon cruising the canal with rainbow flags, glitter and good company. This year, the BBQ meant that we could really get involved with the parade and the city centre celebrations.
The Morgans team
Leeds Pride is “Yorkshire’s biggest celebration of LGBT+ life” and has been hitting the streets of Leeds since 2006. This year holds the new record with between 40,000 and 50,000 supporters.
The Morgans’ team had a lovely afternoon in the sunshine, celebrating such a big event in Leeds’ annual calendar. Bring on next year!
