A team of 7 runners from Morgans took part in the Leeds 10K last weekend in order to raise money for two local charities, Leeds Mencap and The Market Place Leeds.

Jonathan Morgan, our MD says, “The whole team should be extremely proud of what they achieved, it was a hot day and for some of them it was their first ever running event. Furthermore, we realise there are many challenges which need supporting in the community and aim to do as much as we can to positively influence the world outside Morgans. With the support of friends, families and colleagues, we raised over £620 for Leeds Mencap and The Market Place Leeds, which we know will make such a difference to these charities.”

Morgans Dream Team: James Bruce, Alex Lavigne, Rhiannon Winfield, Kerry Roberts, Rebecca Parker, Shoeb Essaji and Daisy Morgan

‘Morgans Dream Team’ took to the streets of Leeds, along with over 10,000 other runners, to help raise awareness and to highlight the invaluable work of both charities. Leeds Mencap provides support to families and individuals living with learning disabilities and The Market Place Leeds provides a range of support services and counselling to vulnerable young people in Leeds.

Our MD has supported various charities within the Leeds community for several years, including Leeds Mencap, The Market Place Leeds and St George’s Crypt. He is a trustee of Leeds Community Foundation, which contributed to the refurbishment of The Vinery Centre at Leeds Mencap with a significant grant.

It was the first year we entered a team into the race and we hope this is something we can continue to support each year. Some of this year’s runners are already signing up for 2019!
