Moving house can be a stressful time for everyone, that’s why we’ve created a checklist for when you move to make life a little easier.

Confirm date

You should always confirm the date with the seller or Letting Agent. When you know the official date you can plan when you’re going to sort everything such as packing, arranging transport and changing your address as mentioned below, to ensure that you have plenty of time to do this.

Make a list

Your Agent will provide an inventory for you of what should be in your new home, it’s good to make sure you check this list. If the property is missing items that you may require then you are able to plan to get them beforehand if you don’t already own them.

Change of address

You need to ensure everyone knows that your address is changing so you should make a list of who you need to contact. You also need to notify your service providers and anyone who deals with your utility bills so that they can send important letters to your new address.

If you have a lot of furniture to move you need to think about how you’re going to get it from one place to another. There are lots of removal companies or you could ask friends and family to help. It’s best to organise this in advance so you are all set for your move in date.

New area

If you’re moving to an unfamiliar area you could ask your Agent to give you information in regards to what amenities are nearby and gain an idea of how far they are from your new home.

Are you ready to move?
