Are you a tenant or going to be a tenant in the future? If so, here are our top tips for keeping your landlord or Letting Agent happy…
Treat the property like your own

Although you may only be renting the property, it is always best to keep it in good condition as you would if it was your own place. Try not to damage anything badly inside the property as it could cost you to replace it. It’s always a good idea to keep the property clean so that it presents itself well and looks in good condition for your landlord or Letting Agent during inspections.

Rent payment

You should always pay your rent on time. If there is a serious issue which may affect the date of the rent payment you should tell the landlord or Letting Agent in advance. By paying your rent on time you are able to maintain a positive relationship with your landlord or Agent.

If any issues arise whilst you are living in the property you should let the landlord or Letting Agent who manages the property know as soon as possible in order to prevent the problem from getting worse. You should also know who to contact regarding problems that occur. As a reminder if you’re a tenant with us you can report any problems on Fixflo which is an online reporting system for repairs. We have a link to Fixflo on our website.

You should follow what is asked of you by your landlord or Letting Agent. If there is something you are unsure of you should always ask permission beforehand. You should also refer to the tenant handbook which we send out to you at the start of your tenancy to check on anything you are unsure of.
